Jayne: Time for some thrilling heroics.

Quote of the Day

If the Doctor chooses to join the Lively, take his sea-chest and anything else he wants, no matter what — a stuffed whale or a double-headed ape got with child by the bosun.

Oz: Are you guys all right?

Xander: First of all, what was with the acrobatics? How did that happen?

Oz: Wasn’t Andy Hoelich on the gymnastics team?

Xander: That’s right, he was! Cheater! Okay, and the, uh, second problem I’m having . . . ‘Come and get it, Big Boy’?

Willow: Well . . . W-well, the Slayer always says a pun or-or a witty play on words, and I think it throws the vampires off, and, and it makes them *frightened* because I’m wisecracking. Okay, I didn’t really have a chance to work on that one, but *you* try it every time.

Oz: Uh, if I may suggest: ‘This time it’s personal.’ I mean, there’s a reason why it’s a classic.

Xander: I’ve always been amazed with how Buffy fought, but . . . in a way, I feel like we took her punning for granted.

Quote of the Day

“But before you try to kill me, I’d advice you to think about what you’ve done. . . . Think, and try for some remorse, Riddle. . . .”

“What is this?”

Of all the things that Harry had said to him, beyond any revelation or taunt, nothing had shocked Voldemort like this. Harry saw his pupils contract to thin slits, saw the skin around his eyes whiten.

“It’s your one last chance,” said Harry, “it’s all you’ve got left. . . . I’ve seen what you’ll be otherwise. . . . Be a man . . . try . . . Try for some remorse. . . .”

Review: Bridge of Spies

When is a spy movie not a spy movie? Bridge of Spies has all of the trappings of a spy movie, espionage, hidden communications, interrogations, secret identities, a race against the clock, and worldwide consequences hanging in the balance, but it’s as far from a “spy movie” as you can get. Instead, Bridge of Spies is a film about spies. Steven Spielberg has teamed up once again with Tom Hanks (with a script by the Coen brothers) bring us a true story from the height of the Cold War, a story of subtle legal and political maneuvering with the fate of not only two spies but two nations hanging in the balance. The result is a tense, thrilling, yet beautifully quiet film that focuses on the human element of international espionage, and the way the lives of those who only wish to serve their country are used or discarded as situations change.

Simon: Hey.

Kaylee: Oh! Hey, Doctor.

Simon: You really should just call me Simon.

Kaylee: Oh, I’ll do that, then.

Simon: So, what are we doing?

Kaylee: Oh! Crime.

Simon: Crime? Good. Okay, crime.

Kaylee: It’s a train heist. See, we fly over the train car. The Captain and Zoe sneak in, we lower Jayne onto the car, and they bundle up the booty, and we haul ’em all back up. Easy as lyin’.

Simon: They’ve done this before?

Kaylee: (laughs) Hell no. But I think it’s gonna work.

Quote of the Day

My dear Stephen, he wrote

Oh wish me joy – I am made post! I never thought it would be, though he received me in the kindest way; but then suddenly he popped it out, signed, sealed and delivered, with seniority from May 23rd. It was like a prodigious unexpected vast great broadside from a three-decker, but of happiness: I could not get it all aboard directly, I was so taken aback, but by the time I had smuggled myself back to the Grapes I was swelling like a rose – so happy. How I wish you had been there! I celebrated with a quart of your vile porter and a bolus, and turned in at once, quite fagged out.

This morning I was very much better, however, and in the Savoy chapel I said the finest thing in my life. The parson was playing a Handel fugue, the organ-boy deserted his post, and I said ‘it would be a pity to leave Handel up in the air, for want of wind,’ and blew for him. It was the wittiest thing! I did not smoke it entirely all at once, however, only after I had been pumping for some time; and then I could hardly keep from laughing aloud. It may be that post captains are a very witty set of men, and that I am coming to it.

Recap: Agents of SHIELD – “Among Us Hide…”

Melinda May and Bobbi Morse

We returned to business as usual this week on Agents of SHIELD, after last week’s thrilling, emotional, bold, and unique episode that finally gave us the story of what happened to Simmons on that alien world. But for its 50th episode, SHIELD gave us some huge developments on several storylines and for several characters, including one major twist that some of us might have seen coming. Season three is moving along quickly, but I haven’t quite decided where I think things are headed. There are a lot of storylines in play at the moment, with only glimpses of how they all tie together, but I’m excited to see where things head next. So let’s jump into the exciting “Among Us Hide…” written by Drew Z. Greenberg and directed by Dwight Little.
