Oz: Are you guys all right?

Xander: First of all, what was with the acrobatics? How did that happen?

Oz: Wasn’t Andy Hoelich on the gymnastics team?

Xander: That’s right, he was! Cheater! Okay, and the, uh, second problem I’m having . . . ‘Come and get it, Big Boy’?

Willow: Well . . . W-well, the Slayer always says a pun or-or a witty play on words, and I think it throws the vampires off, and, and it makes them *frightened* because I’m wisecracking. Okay, I didn’t really have a chance to work on that one, but *you* try it every time.

Oz: Uh, if I may suggest: ‘This time it’s personal.’ I mean, there’s a reason why it’s a classic.

Xander: I’ve always been amazed with how Buffy fought, but . . . in a way, I feel like we took her punning for granted.

Quote of the Day

“But before you try to kill me, I’d advice you to think about what you’ve done. . . . Think, and try for some remorse, Riddle. . . .”

“What is this?”

Of all the things that Harry had said to him, beyond any revelation or taunt, nothing had shocked Voldemort like this. Harry saw his pupils contract to thin slits, saw the skin around his eyes whiten.

“It’s your one last chance,” said Harry, “it’s all you’ve got left. . . . I’ve seen what you’ll be otherwise. . . . Be a man . . . try . . . Try for some remorse. . . .”

Simon: Hey.

Kaylee: Oh! Hey, Doctor.

Simon: You really should just call me Simon.

Kaylee: Oh, I’ll do that, then.

Simon: So, what are we doing?

Kaylee: Oh! Crime.

Simon: Crime? Good. Okay, crime.

Kaylee: It’s a train heist. See, we fly over the train car. The Captain and Zoe sneak in, we lower Jayne onto the car, and they bundle up the booty, and we haul ’em all back up. Easy as lyin’.

Simon: They’ve done this before?

Kaylee: (laughs) Hell no. But I think it’s gonna work.

Quote of the Day

My dear Stephen, he wrote

Oh wish me joy – I am made post! I never thought it would be, though he received me in the kindest way; but then suddenly he popped it out, signed, sealed and delivered, with seniority from May 23rd. It was like a prodigious unexpected vast great broadside from a three-decker, but of happiness: I could not get it all aboard directly, I was so taken aback, but by the time I had smuggled myself back to the Grapes I was swelling like a rose – so happy. How I wish you had been there! I celebrated with a quart of your vile porter and a bolus, and turned in at once, quite fagged out.

This morning I was very much better, however, and in the Savoy chapel I said the finest thing in my life. The parson was playing a Handel fugue, the organ-boy deserted his post, and I said ‘it would be a pity to leave Handel up in the air, for want of wind,’ and blew for him. It was the wittiest thing! I did not smoke it entirely all at once, however, only after I had been pumping for some time; and then I could hardly keep from laughing aloud. It may be that post captains are a very witty set of men, and that I am coming to it.

Angelus: Now that’s everything, huh? No weapons… No friends… No hope. Take all that away… and what’s left?

Buffy: Me.

Quote of the Day

“You won’t be killing anyone else tonight,” said Harry as they circled, and stared into each other’s eyes, green into red. “You won’t be able to kill any of them ever again. Don’t you get it? I was ready to die to stop you from hurting these people —”

“But you did not!”

“— I meant to, and that’s what did it. I’ve done what my mother did. They’re protected from you. Haven’t you noticed how none of the spells you put on them are binding? You can’t torture them. You can’t touch them. You don’t learn from your mistakes, Riddle, do you?”

You dare —”

“Yes I dare,” said Harry. “I know things you don’t know, Tom Riddle. I know lots of important things that you don’t. Want to hear some, before you make another big mistake?”

Zoe: Sir, is there some information we might maybe be lacking as to why there’s an entire fedsquad sitting on this train?

Mal: Doesn’t concern us.

Zoe: It kinda concerns me.

Mal: I mean they’re not protecting the goods. If they were, they wouldn’t be letting people past ’em.

Zoe: You don’t think that changes the situation a bit?

Mal: I surely do. Makes it more fun.

Zoe: Sir? I think you have a problem with your brain being missing.

Mal: Come on. We stick to the plan. We get the goods, we’re back on Serenity before the train even reaches Paradiso, only now we do it under the noses of twenty trained Alliance Feds. And that makes ’em look all manner of stupid. Hell, this job I would pull for free.

Zoe: Can I have your share?

Mal: No.

Zoe: If you die, can I have your share?

Mal: Yes.

Firefly – Episode 2 – “The Train Job”

Quote of the Day

Killick was moving about the room, making an unnecessary noise, kicking things not altogether by accident, cursing steadily. He was in a vile temper: he could be smelt from the pillow. Jack had given him a guinea to drink his swab, and he had done so conscientiously, down to the last penny, being brought home on a shutter. ‘Now sir,’ he said, coughing artificially. ‘Time for this here bolus.’ Jack slept on. ‘It’s no good coming it the Abraham, sir. I seen you twitch. Down it must go. Post-captain or no post-captain,’ he added, possibly to himself, ‘you’ll post it down, my lord, or I’ll know the reason why. And your nice porter, too.’

Quote of the Day

Xander: Giles!

Giles: Xander?

Xander: Can you walk?

Giles: You’re not real.

Xander: Sure, I’m real.

Giles: It’s a trick. They get inside my head, make me see things I want.

Xander: Then why would they make you see me?

Giles: …………You’re right. Let’s go.

Quote of the Day

Protego!” roared Harry, and the Shield Charm expanded in the middle of the Hall, and Voldemort stared around for the source as Harry pulled off the Invisibility Cloak at last.

The yell of shock, the cheers, the screams on every side of “Harry!” “HE’S ALIVE!” were stifled at once. The crowd was afraid, and silence fell abruptly and completely as Voldemort and Harry looked at each other, and began, at the same moment, to circle each other.

“I don’t want anyone else to try to help,” Harry said loudly, and in the total silence his voice carried like a trumpet call. “It’s got to be like this. It’s got to be me.”

Voldemort hissed.

“Potter doesn’t mean that,” he said, his red eyes wide. “That isn’t how he works, is it? Who are you going to use as a shield today, Potter?”

“Nobody,” said Harry simply. “There are no more Horcruxes. It’s just you and me. Neither can live while the other survives, and one of us is about to leave for good. . . .”
