Buffy the Vampire Slayer – Season 2: Episode 22 – “Becoming (Part 2)”
This week on Agents of SHIELD we got some new revelations, major confrontations, and even a possible death, all set up by last week’s “step forward” episode. This episode had a bit of everything, from Inhumans and the ATCU to the reappearance of Lash, to Hunter and May’s quest to stop Ward, to Simmons’ recovery and secret mission. We also have a couple of new mysteries to keep us guessing in the coming weeks! SHIELD is moving along at a pretty quick pace this season, but I think we’re still a little in the dark as to where the season is ultimately heading. But let’s see what we can discover in this week’s SHIELD, “Devils You Know,” written by Paul Zbyszewski and directed by Ron Underwood.
And then many things happened at the same moment.
They heard an uproar from the distant boundary of the school as what sounded like hundreds of people came swarming over the out-of-sight walls and pelted toward the castle, uttering loud war cries. At the same time, Grawp came lumbering around the side of the castle and yelled, “HAGGER!” His cry was answered by roars from Voldemort’s giants: They ran at Grawp like bull elephants, making the earth quake. Then came hooves and the twangs of bows, and arrows were suddenly falling amongst the Death Eaters, who broke ranks, shouting their surprise. harry pulled the Invisibility Cloak from inside his robes, swung it over himself, and sprang to his feet, as Neville moved too.
In one swift, fluid motion, Neville broke free of the Body-Bind Curse upon him; the flaming hat fell off him and he drew from its depths something silver, with a glittering, rubied handle —
The slash of the silver blade could not be heard over the roar of the oncoming crowd or the sounds of the clashing giants or of the stampeding centaurs, and yet it seemed to draw every eye. Firefly – Episode 2 – “The Train Job”
He knew that this approval would grow after the publication of his official letter, with its grim list of casualties ― seventeen dead and twenty-three wounded ― for civilians liked to have sailors’ blood to deplore, and the more a victory cost the more it was esteemed. If only little Parslow could have contrived to get himself knocked on the head it would have been perfect.

After years of having to deal with false Facebook posts, today is finally, for real, Back to the Future day. Today, October 21, 2015 (at 4:29pm) is the day when Marty McFly, Doc Brown, and Jennifer Parker arrive at the future in Back to the Future Part II. The Back to the Future series has long been one of my favorites, and I’m looking forward to seeing Part II on the big screen this evening for the first time. But while I’ve written about the first film previously on the blog, I’ve never taken a look at Part II before and today is as good a day as any. I’m sure Back to the Future will be all over the internet today, and most of the articles will focus on how 2015 looked to those in 1985 (which is always the fun of time travel movies), I’d rather look at the film itself, its place in the story, and how it ties into and enhances the themes of the series.
