Quote of the Day

In some stories, it’s easy.  The more of “The Three Bears,” for instance, is “Never break into someone else’s house.” The moral of “Snow White” is “Never eat apples.” The moral of World War One is “Never assassinate Archduke Ferdinand.”

Quote of the Day

Miles O’Brien: Looks like he used some sort of encryption program to bypass the access protocols.

Kira Nerys: Unbelievable. The nerve.

Quark: Major, you wanted to see me?

Odo: Don’t pretend you don’t know what this is about.

Kira Nerys: Maybe this’ll jog your memory. Engage monitor.

Quark’s Advertisement: Come to Quark’s, Quark’s is fun, come right now, don’t walk, run!

Quark: Oh, I love the part where my name rotates around.

Odo: Tampering with the station’s comm. system is a class three offence.

Quark: It’s just a little advertisement. I didn’t put one up in Ops.

Odo: I’m sure the magistrate will take that into consideration when he calculates your fine.

Worf: You!

Quark: As you can see, we’re very busy here. Station business.

Worf: How did you do it?

Miles O’Brien: Do what?

Worf: I ordered a glass of prune juice from the replicator in the Defiant’s mess. This is what it came in.

Kira Nerys: If all your little advertisements aren’t purged from our systems by the time I get back from the Gamma Quadrant, I will come to Quark’s, and believe me, I will have fun.

Quark: Er, let me help you with that, Chief.

Quote of the Day

None of the staff but Filch seemed to be stirring themselves to help her. Indeed, a week after Free and George’s departure Harry witnessed Professor McGonagall walking right past Peeves, who was determinedly loosening a crystal chandelier, and could have sworn he heard her tell the poltergeist out of the corner of her mouth, “It unscrews the other way.”

Quote of the Day

It is very easy to say that the important thing is to try your best, but if you are in real trouble the most important thing is not trying your best, but getting to safety.

Quote of the Day

Frustration is an interesting emotional state, because it tends to bring out the worst in whoever is frustrated.  Frustrated babies tend to throw food and make a mess.  Frustrated citizens tend to execute kings and queens and make a democracy.  And frustrated moths tend to bang up against lightbulbs and make light fixtures all dusty.

Quote of the Day

Omet’iklan: I am First Omet’iklan, and I am dead. As of this moment, we are all dead. We go into battle to reclaim our lives. This we do gladly, for we are Jem’Hadar. Remember: victory is life.
Jem’Hadar: Victory is life!
Weyoun: Such a delightful people.
Miles O’Brien: I am Chief Miles Edward O’Brien. I am very much alive, and I intend to stay that way.
Benjamin Sisko: Amen!

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Season 4: Episode 23 – “To The Death”

Quote of the Day

“If anyone fancies buing a Portable Swamp, as demonstrated upstairs, come to number ninety-three, Diagon Alley — Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes,” he said in a loud voice.  “Our new premises!”

“Special discounts to Hogwarts students who swear they’re going to use our products to get rid of this old bat,” added George, pointing at Professor Umbridge.

“STOP THEM!” shrieked Umbridge, but it was too late.  As the Inquisitorial Squad closed in, Fred and George kicked off from the floor, shooting fifteen feet into the air, the iron peg swinging dangerously below.  Fred looked across the hall at the poltergeist bobbing on his level above the crowd.

“Give her hell from us, Peeves.”

And Peeves, whom Harry had never seen take an order from a student before, swept his belled hat from his head and sprang to a salute as Fred and George wheeled about to tumultuous applause from the students below and sped out of the open front doors into the glorious sunset.

Quote of the Day

Stealing, of course, is a crime, and a very impolite thing to do.  But like most impolite things, it is excusable under certain circumstances.  Stealing is not excusable if, for instance, you are in a museum and you decide that a certain painting would look better in your house, and you simply grab the painting and take it there.  But if you were very, very hungry, and you had no way of obtaining money, it might be excusable to grab the painting, take it to your house, and eat it.

Quote of the Day

Worf: It has come to my attention that Omet’iklan has made a threat against your life.
Benjamin Sisko: I didn’t think it was public knowledge.
Worf: You told Commander Dax.
Benjamin Sisko: Well, that explains it.

Quote of the Day

“Oh, why don’t we have a night off?” Said Hermione brightly, as a silver-tailed Weasley rocket zoomed past the window. “After all, the Easter holidays start on Friday, we’ll have plenty of time then. . . .”
“Are you feeling all right?” Ron asked, staring at her in disbelief.
“Now you mention it,” said Hermione happily, “d’you know . . . I think I’m feeling a bit . . . rebellious.”
