After a week off (a bye week, as my best friend called it) SHIELD is back! Last time we got our most mythologically interesting episode to date, which gave us glimpses into Skye’s backstory as well as more information about the mysterious Centipede group. Tonight’s episode set aside the mythology to give us a mysterious investigation and a generous helping of emotion, we learned a lot more about Fitz and Simmons and got some excellent acting from Clark Gregg and company. So without further ado, let’s dive into the amusingly named “F.Z.Z.T.”, written by Paul Zbyszewski and directed by Vincent Misiano.
Welcome to “Trailer Tuesday” where I talk about trailers for upcoming movies, since I’ve always found trailers to be endlessly fascinating.
We’ve finally gotten our last trailer for Catching Fire, the 2nd film in the Hunger Games trilogy (or quadrilogy, since they’re splitting the final book into two movies, Harry Potter- and Twilight-style). The film comes out in just a couple weeks, so check out this brief final tease and read on for my comments below:
(Note: This is a fictional creative writing exercise, inspired by hours of contemplation of which animated performances have been most worthy of attention over the years. Each week I’ll cover the hypothetical nominees and winner from one year of animated performances.)

When no clear frontrunners emerged, talk about the award started to die down, and industry analysts marked the category as one to ignore this year. They were wrong, because when the nominations were announced the category was one again at the forefront of conversation. However, instead of excitement the overwhelming tone of the discussion was one of confusion. Continue reading
Thomas wakes up in a dark room and can’t remember anything from his past except his name. The room is an elevator, slowly rising until doors above him open to the sky and he finds himself in a glade surrounded by teenaged boys, just like him. The glade is surrounded by towering walls and beyond those walls lies the maze, a deadly mystery whose walls change position every night and which is filled with murderous, biomechanical creatures. Each day, some of the boys run out into the maze, mapping its movements and searching for a way out, but they have to be back by sunset so that they’re not trapped in the maze with the creatures when the doors close automatically.
Sirius shook his head and said, “She’s got the measure of Crouch better than you have, Ron. If you want to know what a man’s like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.”
