2. This film was maligned because we live in an age of political correctness.

   • I don’t think political correctness was the reason it was trashed in the reviews. (Political correctness is thrown around as a villain any time someone says something with which we disagree.) But I do think it was treated unfairly by critics for a variety of reasons, which I wrote about here: https://thelovepirate.net/2013/08/07/the-lone-ranger-critics-and-the-box-office/

       I think the “racist” label did more to hurt the film than help it. We live in an age of political correctness.
