  1. Saw this on DVD, and it’s a fine example of classic stop motion animation. Clever, quirky, not the sort of thing the movie machine here tends to spew out (hoping to garner Big Bucks). Despite my love of CG, I hope… and think.. that there will always be a place for classic types of animation like this. Stop-mo has a quality that sets it apart from CG: a kind of slightly sputtery oddness… and a level of Real CG can’t quite capture, because real objects in real light are being used.
