Quote of the Day

I have a friend named Gina-Sue who is a socialist, and Gina-Sue has a favorite saying: “You can’t lock up the barn after the horses are gone.”

  1. This quote is from a children’s book! That’s amazing! If you still don’t believe that our kids are being brainwashed, there’s something seriously wrong with you. The US is the greatest country in the world because of its free market capitalism, and all the freedoms we take for granted. No socialist country has ever prospered, or will ever prosper, like the US. Ask anyone who lived in the USSR, Cuba, or Venezuela about freedom in those countries. Still, we not only have a bunch of morons in this country that want to push Marxist ideology down our throats, but they do it in a sneaky way, they try to brainwash our kids while we’re not looking. This should be considered an act of treason in the US.

    • Wow… ok. I seriously considered just deleting this comment, but I’m going to leave it up because unlike some people I’m not big on censorship. I will say that I think you’re overreacting to one mention of the author having a friend who is a socialist (the only reference to socialism in the 13 books in the series), which offers no endorsement of socialism. I would also say that I think someone who talks about how much freedom we seemingly have in the US but then says that the author’s use of free speech should be considered treason probably needs to take a step back and reexamine their logic.

      • I’m not suggesting that free speech should be considered an act of treason. Using free speech as cover for trying to brainwash our children into accepting Marxist/Socialist ideology is a different story. With that one sentence, the author tells the young, impressionable mind that Socialists are not only good people, but that they’re rather wise too.

You’re a novelist yourself; try writing this in one of your novels: “I have a friend named Lori who is a Nazi, and Lori has a favorite saying, ‘Give a man a fish and feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and feed him for life.’ ” What do you think the reaction from the PC crazy left would be? Don’t jump off the deep end now, I’m not defending Nazis or their ideology, but as horrible as the Nazi holocaust was, Marxists/Socialist governments have killed many, many more people than the Nazis ever did. In all schools throughout the US, they never fail to teach about the Holocaust, and I’m glad that they do, but why don’t they ever teach about the 20 million Ukrainians and Russians that Stalin killed? Why don’t they teach about the 50 to 75 million Chinese people that “Chairman Mao” murdered in China? These truths are not very convenient for the Marxist loving left, and therefore, it’s not taught in schools, no movies are ever made of these events, and you’re attacked by the PC police if you bring them up. These morons who continue to push Marxist ideology down our throats want us to look the other way, we’re supposed to allow them to tell us how good and wise Marxists are. At the same time, the American way of life and Capitalism are constantly demonized in the majority of news outlets, in Hollywood movies, in music, in schools, on the internet, etc. The goal is to crush Capitalism and push Marxism in the name of fairness. What do you think the occupy movement was about? How many millions of people have been murdered in the name of capitalism? The fairness and equality that Marxism creates is when everyone is equally miserable, hungry, poor, intimidated, controlled, and oppressed.

Here’s another excellent quote: “Beware of little expenses. A small leak will sink a great ship.” – Benjamin Franklin That small leak is the small, but constant, anti-capitalist/pro-Marxist push by the left in this country.

        Thank you,

        Pete
