Quote of the Day

“Listen, Hermione, I can tell it’s not a girl. I can just tell.”

“The truth is that you don’t think a girl would have been clever enough,” said Hermione angrily.

“How can I have hung round with you for five years and not think girls are clever?” said Harry, stung by this.

Quote of the Day

Xander and Angel, Prophecy Girl

Angel:  What?

Xander:  You were looking at my neck.

Angel:  What?

Xander:  You were checking out my neck! I saw that!

Angel:  No, I wasn’t!

Xander:  Just keep your distance, pal.

Angel:  I wasn’t looking at your neck!

Xander:  I told you to eat before we left.

Quote of the Day

Operating theaters are not nearly as popular as dramatic theaters, musical theaters, and movie theaters, and it is easy to see why. A dramatic theater is a large, dark room in which actors perform a play, and if you are in the audience, you can enjoy yourself by listening to the dialog and looking at the costumes. A musical theater is a large, dark room in which musicians perform a symphony, and if you are in the audience, you can enjoy yourself by listening to the melodies and watching the conductor wave his little stick around. And a movie theater is a large, dark room in which a projectionist shows a film, and if you are in the audience, you can enjoy yourself by eating popcorn and gossiping about movie stars. But an operating theater is a large, dark room in which doctors perform medical procedures, and if you are in the audience, the best thing to do is to leave at once, because there is never anything on display in an operating theater but pain, suffering, and discomfort, and for this reason most operating theaters have been closed down or have been turned into restaurants.

Quote of the Day

Miles O’Brien: Don’t hit it too hard. You could shatter the control panel.

Jadzia Dax: Don’t worry, I have a light touch.

Julian Bashir: Not according to Worf…

Quote of the Day

“You’d think people had better things to gossip about,” said Ginny, as she sat on the common room floor, leaning against Harry’s legs and reading the Daily Prophet. “Three dementor attacks in a week, and all Romilda Vane does is ask me if it’s true you’ve got a hippogriff tattooed across your chest.”

Ron and Hermione both roared with laughter.  Harry ignored them.

“What’d you tell her?”
“I told her it’s a Hungarian Horntail,” said Ginny, turning a page of the newspaper idly. “Much more macho.”

“Thanks,” said Harry, grinning. “And what did you tell her Ron’s got?”
“A Pygmy Puff, but I didn’t say where.”

Ron scowled as Hermione rolled around laughing.

Buffy, Prophecy Girl

Buffy:  When he wakes up tell him… I don’t know. Think of something cool, tell him I said it.

Quote of the Day

Just about everything in this world is easier said than done, with the exception of “systematically assisting Sisyphus’s stealthy, cyst-susceptible sister,” which is easier done than said.

Quote of the Day

Benjamin Sisko: I have begun to wonder. What if it wasn’t a dream? What if this life we’re leading – all of this, you and me, everything – what if all of this… is the illusion?

Joseph Sisko: That’s a scary thought.

Benjamin Sisko: I know, I know… But maybe, just maybe, Benny isn’t the dream. We are. Maybe we’re nothing more than figments of his imagination. For all we know, at this very moment, somewhere, far beyond all those distant stars, Benny Russell… is dreaming of us.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Season 6: Episode 13 – “Far Beyond the Stars”

Quote of the Day

Harry looked around; there was Ginny running toward him; she had a hard, blazing look in her face as she threw her arms around him. And without thinking, without planning it, without worrying about the fact that fifty people were watching, Harry kissed her.
After several long moments — or it might have been half an hour — or possibly several sunlit days — they broke apart. The room had gone very quiet. Then several people wolf-whistled and there was an outbreak of nervous giggling. Harry looked over the top of Ginny’s head to see Dean Thomas holding a shattered glass in his hand, and Romilda Vane looking as though she might throw something. Hermione was beaming, but Harry’s eyes sought Ron. At last he found him, still clutching the Cup and wearing an expression appropriate to having been clubbed over the head. For a fraction of a second they looked at each other, then Ron gave a tiny jerk of the head that Harry understood to mean, Well — if you must.
The creature in his chest roaring in triumph, he grinned down at Ginny and gestured wordlessly out of the portrait hole. A long walk in the grounds seemed indicated, during which — if they had time — they might discuss the match.

Quote of the Day

Buffy and Giles, Out of Mind, Out of Sight

Giles:  How exactly do you propose to hunt someone you can’t see? You may have to work on listening to people.

Buffy:  Very funny.

Giles:  I thought so.
