With the recent release of Monsters University, many blogs and news sites have been ranking all of the pixar films, so I thought I would do the same with my favorites. There is some flexibility here, as films tend to move up and down depending on my mood, but the general trend doesn’t change. (You can also find my ranking of comic book superhero movies here.) Read on for my list and for a poll. Let me know what you think in the comments!
- WALL-E
- Ratatouille
- Finding Nemo
- Toy Story
- Toy Story 3
- Up
- Monsters, Inc.
- The Incredibles
- Brave
- Monsters University
- Cars
- Toy Story 2
- A Bug’s Life
- Cars 2

Wall-E is such a wonderful movie on so many levels. It has wonderful animation and music. It’s a great kid’s movie and great sci-fi. And how many movies do you see where there is hardly any dialogue for the first 40 minutes? My second choice would have to be Finding Nemo, mainly because of Ellen Degeneres’ Dory.
I am curious why Toy Story 2 is so low on the list. Any particular reservations about that one?

I agree completely about Wall-E and Finding Nemo (it’s all about Ellen and Dory). As for Toy Story 2, I just felt like it was a big letdown after Toy Story. I thought it wasn’t nearly as creative. I feel like they were going for a bigger emotional impact but sort of lost focus. Don’t get me wrong, other than Cars 2, there isn’t a Pixar movie that I don’t love, I just never connected with Toy Story 2 the way I did with the others.

Good list! You know I already agree that WALL-E is the best one. But Monsters Inc is too low… 😉

I love Monsters Inc. Making a list of favorite Pixar movies is like listing your favorite children. I love all of them (well, except Cars 2), so it’s all just relative.

Definitely 🙂 (yes, Cars 2 was unfortunate!)
